Pioneer Pork Cake

In our family since 1840.

• 1 1/2 cup Pork Fat
• 1 1/2 cop Raisins

Grind raisins, pork fat together, add:

• 1 1/2 cup boiling water

let stand 3-4 minutes.

• 2 1/2 cup sifted flour
• 2 cup brown sugar
• 1 t. ground cinnamon
• 1 t. ground cloves
• 1 t. baking soda

Mix all ingredients into a stiff batter & pour into greased 9×12“ pan. Make in pree-heated 350 degree oven 45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
